This project is a combination of refurbishment and new build to create 12 new Apartments in two 3 storey buildings. The contract was negotiated on a design and build basis.
The existing building was previously a Mill and was fire damaged. The total refurbishment included new floors, windows and an insulated plasterboard system to achieve 'U' values to meet Code Level 3.
The new building was constructed adjacent to an existing stream. This involved the temporary diversion of the stream, in liaison with the Environment Agency. A new retaining wall was constructed to the line of the watercourse.
The site was completed with a block paved courtyard area and met the requirements of Code Level 3.
